Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck can be used. The reach truck comes in several kinds: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is usually utilized. This particular model consists of telescopic forks designed to position the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet should go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units could be accessed in multiple directions. This model is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
In most warehouses, there are usually more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms use various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and could make the most of available storage space while increasing production.
