A type of equipment in the material handling business which could be used to lift and move loads from one location to another is referred to as a forklift. Each component of a forklift has a specific function. Different components could be utilized to move the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The parts utilized to lower and lift the load is called the forklift mast. There are different kinds of masts used for lifting loads to various heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is situated inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is located within the middle of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all situated in the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the biggest forklift parts is the truck frame. This includes the counterweights located at the rear that prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
