During 1842, Inventor Jerome Increase Case established Case within Racine. He started building threshing machines. The business later gained international recognition as the initial builder of steam engines for its agricultural use. In time, the business grew to become the world's largest producers of steam engines.
Case had established themselves in the construction machine business by the year 1912. They became a producer of road building machines including road graders and steam rollers. Case grew their construction machinery business through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation during the year 1957. Case had expanded their business by the middle part of the 1990s to become the leading producer of medium-sized to light-sized construction equipment.
Case merged with the corporation New Holland in 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for advertising several of the globe's leading brands of agricultural and construction machinery.
