Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, because the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Genie decided to secure a partner who held the same values because of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
The DC and Bi-Energy machines provided by Genie offers emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the equipment needs to be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the advantages of a 48V DC machine.
Compared to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machines provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
